Since September 1, 1951, the "Canadian Serb Defence" has been fighting continuously for the national interests of our people.

Canadian Srbobran was founded, inspired by the American Srbobran, by Milutin Bajčetić from Hamilton, who was also the first printer of the publication. The newspaper was launched from a garage and packaged and distributed worldwide from the home of Sava Kovačević, a journalist and the first editorial secretary. The first issue was published on September 1, 1951.

Contributors to Canadian Srbobran included Lazo M. Kostić, Miladin R. Šoškić, Olga B. Marković, Gordana Petković Laković, Vujica Rakočević, and Đurađ Vujčić. At the same time, some of the editors were Čedomir Ašanin, Vuk Cerović, Moma Marković, and Lazar Stojšić, who edited the newspaper for a full 37 years, until he died in 1991.

The editorial board consists of Dragana Đurić (Editor-in-Chief), Nenad Čudić (Chair of the Editorial Board), and members Dušan Pešikan, Miroslav Radošević, and Zoran Cvijetić.

Canadian Srbobran is published four times a year and has transitioned from a newspaper to a magazine format since 2023.

The glorious past of the "Canadian Srbobran" obliges us to improve this vital newspaper for our people and leave it as a legacy to generations of national Serbs, who grow up in the Serbian National Defence and make up its future.
